About the book
Katherine Adams arrives at Oakwood expecting her friend Nyoda to meet her, only to find herself alone and unable to recall the information needed to locate her destination. Her attempts to recover the situation lead her toward a dark house from which she hears someone singing. The strange encounter becomes part of a Christmas adventure involving the Camp Fire Girls and the circle around Carver House. Frey begins with the comic embarrassment of a capable girl temporarily defeated by her own memory, then lets curiosity and unease complicate the holiday atmosphere. Friendship, initiative, and the willingness to look beyond a first impression shape a mystery that grows from an unexpectedly awkward arrival.
