About the book
Bill and Gordon Hunniwell are enjoying time in Maine when their friend Steve Rogers brings them an unusual proposal. An ancestral letter and a map suggest that a valuable metal was hidden on Molokai long ago, and Rogers wants the brothers to help investigate. Their remarkable electric aircraft, the Albatross, offers a way to reach the islands and explore difficult terrain. Yet an uncertain clue is only the beginning of the problem: travel hazards, suspicious interference, and the need to protect their equipment turn the expedition into a test of resourcefulness. The novel combines a treasure mystery with the inventive aviation fantasies of its period, placing technical confidence and close cooperation at the center of the boys' adventure.
